Cinema | Tor Jaran Apold - violin | Torgeir Kinne Solsvik - piano
A nostalgic musical journey back to the stirring magic of the cinema through the last half of the 20th century, from acclaimed Norwegian violinist Tor Jaran Apold and pianist Torgeir Kinne Solsvik.
Visiting America, France and, not surprisingly, most of all Italy, Tor and Torgeir also presents a deeply personal version of the incredibly beautiful Norwegian folk song “The Lost Sheep” so effectively used by the Coen brothers in Fargo. 10 movies are represented, receiving a total of 15 Academy Awards.
This is the fourth release from the collaboration of violinist Tor Jaran Apold and pianist Torgeir Kinne Solsvik, following “Isle of light” (2023), reimagining two of Ole Bull’s beloved pieces, “Lullaby” (2024) and “Largo” (2024) containing masterful Vivaldi pieces.
